Deleting your QuizMaxx account

This page explains how to delete your QuizMaxx account, what is removed when you do, and what is kept.

Delete it yourself, in the app

You do not need to ask us, and you do not need to wait. It takes about fifteen seconds.

  1. Open QuizMaxx — the Android app, or quizmaxx.app in any browser.
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top right to open Settings.
  3. Scroll to Account and choose Delete my account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm, then choose Delete my account again.

Deletion happens immediately. If you subscribe to QuizMaxx Plus, the subscription is cancelled as part of the same action — there is nothing else to do and nothing further will be charged.

The confirmation dialog offers Export a backup first. It is worth taking: deletion cannot be undone, and support cannot recover a deleted account.

If you cannot sign in

Email [email protected] from the address the account is registered to, and ask us to delete it. We reply within one month and normally within a day.

What is deleted

All of the following is removed immediately and permanently, and none of it can be recovered afterwards:

WhatKept anywhere afterwards?
Your email address and sign-in credentialsNo
Your study progress — schedules, answer counts, streaks, best scores, quiz-night notes and any decks you wroteNo
Your subscription record, and the subscription itselfNo — it is cancelled
Topics you asked the AI round drafter forNo
Counters recording how much automatic marking you usedNo
Your email preferencesNo
The dates you opened the app while signed inNo
Your answer to "Where did you hear about QuizMaxx?", if you gave oneNo
Whether you signed up in the app or on the webNo
Bug reports and ideas you sent usNo

What is kept, and for how long

Three things outlive the deletion, and only one of them is a choice we made.

Your own device is separate, on purpose

Deleting your account removes everything stored on our servers. It does not touch the copy of your progress held by the browser on your own device, because those are genuinely different things: closing your account is not the same as erasing your own study history from your own phone.

QuizMaxx works entirely without an account, and most people who use it never make one — so if account deletion also wiped the local copy, signing up once and changing your mind would cost you everything you had learned.

To clear the local copy as well: Settings → Your progress → Reset. To keep it and simply stop syncing, delete the account and carry on using the app.

Under UK GDPR you also have rights of access, correction, portability and restriction. The Privacy Policy covers those, what we collect and why. If anything here is unclear, write to [email protected].
